Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur
Since 2010, the Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Tintaya-Socabaya transmission line, the 138 kV Tintaya Nueva-Tintaya existing transmission line, and the associated substations. All of them make up a circuit length of 407 km.
Transmission lines
- Tintaya - Socabaya Line: The line starts at the Tintaya 220kV substation, located in the Cusco region near the town of Marquiri and the Mina Tintaya, and ends at the Socabaya substation, which is located in the Arequipa region in the Socabaya District.
- Tintaya Nueva- Tintaya Existing Line: The line starts at the Tintaya 220kV substation, located in the Cusco region near the town of Marquiri, and later heads northeast towards the Existing Tintaya 138 kV substation, passing through the area of the Mina Tintaya concession. It runs parallel to the 138 kV Tintaya - Cusco line.
Substations
- Existing Socabaya 220 kV Substation (Expansion)
The busbar configuration for this substation is defined by the existing installations, which correspond to a double busbar arrangement with transfer disconnector; all of the existing line and transformer bays of Transmantaro, REDESUR and Cerro Verde have this configuration. - Tintaya 138 kV Substation (Expansion)
The busbar configuration for this substation is defined by the existing installations of R.E.P. and Xstrata-Tintaya; the design and spaces in the Tintaya 138 kV substation are a double busbar configuration. - New 220 kV Tintaya Substation
This substation interconnects hydraulic power stations, large towns, and large loads in the mining sector, so the requirements in terms of reliability, flexibility, and security are high. In addition, it is important within the Peruvian interconnected electricity system due to its geographical location. - New 138 kV Tintaya Substation
The transformer/line bay interconnects with the Tintaya existing 138 kV substation with a short line 3.2 kilometres long.
