Transmission Activity
Our electricity transmission activity is developed through Red Eléctrica del Sur S.A (REDESUR) and four electricity transmission companies integrated in it: Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur S.A.C, Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 2 S.A.C, Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 3 S.A.C and Transmisora Eléctrica del Sur 4 S.A.C. These companies are responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of transmission lines.
Likewise, in the north of the country with Red Eléctrica del Norte Perú S.A.C (REDELNOR) and our Concesionaria Línea de Transmisión Carhuaquero-Cajamarca Norte-Cáclic-Moyobamba S.A.C (CCNCM).
REDESUR is the concession company that provides electrical transmission service to the southern part of the country, in the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna and Puno. It also manages the telecommunications network in the regions where the company operates.
Since 2010, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Tintaya-Socabaya transmission line, the 138 kV Tintaya Nueva-Tintaya existing transmission line, and the associated substations.
Since 2015, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Azángaro-Juliaca-Puno transmission line, which consists of 115 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2018.
Since 2016, this concession company has provided the design, financing, supply, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Montalvo-Los Héroes transmission line, as well as the Montalvo (Moquegua) and Los Héroes (Tacna) substations. This line consists of 129 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2019.
Future concession company for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Nueva Tintaya-Pumiri transmission line, as well as the expansion of the 220 kV Nueva Tintaya and 220 kV Pumiri substations. This line consists of 128 km of circuits and is planned to go into commercial operation in 2021.
CCNCM is the concession company responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of the 220 kV Carhuaquero-Cajamarca Norte-Caclic - Moyobamba transmission line. This transmission line spans 376 km and has been operational since 2017. It plays a crucial role in providing high voltage electricity transmission services in the northern region of the country, specifically in the regions of Cajamarca, Amazonas, and San Martín.
